The Derby - Black Calf
Why 70% off?
The family behind Hecrafted Boot Co. received an offer to sell the brand and move production to a factory line. They refused and chose to close the workshop instead.
Every pair is still bench-lasted by hand in Almansa, Goodyear welted, and built to outlive the brand that made it.
This is the final production run at 70% off. Not a promotion. A farewell on our own terms.
When the last pair ships, the name retires with it. No restocking. No exceptions.
Description
The Derby is handcrafted in Spain, combining Goodyear welt construction with a vertical storm welt for longevity and protection in all conditions. Subtle brogue detailing brings texture to its clean lines, and a studded rubber sole gives a balanced silhouette that moves easily between tailoring and denim for year-round wear.

Fit & sizing
Fits large in size
We recommend selecting half a size down from what you usually wear in lace-up shoes.
Find your perfect fitHow your new loafers should feel
Loafers, by design, should fit snugly to compensate for the lack of lacing—without pinching.
The heel should feel secure, with no slipping, while the toe box should allow for a slight amount of movement. A snug fit offers better support, reduces excessive movement and promotes proper foot placement for comfort and stability.
After a few wears, the cork layer in the sole and the leather upper will gradually conform to the shape of your feet, providing an even better fit.
Care
- Rotate between wears and insert shoe trees after use to retain shape and minimise creasing.
- Use a shoe horn when putting them on and remove the shoes by hand to protect the heel.
- Once dry, brush the suede upper gently to lift the nap and remove dust.
- Suede should be treated with a dedicated protective spray before first wear and refreshed periodically.
- Use a suede eraser on dry marks and avoid liquid cleaners where possible.
- Let the leather sole dry at room temperature if it becomes damp and keep away from direct heat sources.
- If you expect frequent wear in wet conditions, consider adding a thin rubber sole for extra grip and longevity.
- Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Size Guide
Find your usual shoe size below and compare it with your foot length. For the most accurate fit, measure both feet while standing and use the measurement of the larger foot.
| US | EU | UK | Foot Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 39 | 5 | 24 cm |
| 7 | 40 | 6 | 25 cm |
| 8 | 41 | 7 | 26 cm |
| 9 | 42 | 8 | 27 cm |
| 10 | 43 | 9 | 28 cm |
| 11 | 44 | 10 | 29 cm |
| 12 | 45 | 11 | 30 cm |
How to measure your feet
1. Place a sheet of paper against a wall.
2. Stand on the paper with your heel touching the wall.
3. Mark the tip of your longest toe.
4. Measure from the edge of the paper to the mark.
5. Repeat with your other foot and use the larger measurement.
Thirteen Years. One Last Run.
Thirteen years in the same workshop in Almansa. The same benches, the same wooden lasts, the same hands. A pair took days, not minutes, and left only when it was right.
That is also why it ends. We were asked to move production abroad and cut the welt. We said no, and closed instead.
What remains is the final run, now at 70% off. When a size is gone, it is gone.
Shoes like these outlive the workshop that made them. That was always the point.
Honestly did not expect this quality at the sale price. The sole is proper leather and the shape is elegant.
Exactly like the pictures. The colour and grain are spot on and the box was beautiful.
Slim, refined and easy to walk in all day. I get compliments every time I wear them.
Bought a pair for my father and he was thrilled. Looks far more expensive than it was.
Took a couple of days to break in and now they feel moulded to my foot. Real leather does that.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the closing sale, sizing, shipping, returns and warranty.
Why is everything 70% off?
The Hecrafted Boot Co. family was asked to move production abroad and cut the welt. They refused, and chose to close the workshop instead. Every pair in this final run is now 70% off, already reflected in the price. Not a promotion. A farewell on their own terms.
How do I find my size?
Every product page has its own size guide with EU, UK, US and centimetre conversions for that specific last. Trace your foot, measure heel to longest toe, and match it to the table. Most of our lace-ups fit large, so we usually recommend going half a size down. If you are between sizes, message us before ordering.
Will my size be restocked?
No. This is the final production run. Each size was made once and will not be produced again. When a size sells out, it leaves the site for good, so if you find your size available, it is the last time you will.
How are the shoes made?
Every pair is bench-lasted by hand in our workshop in Almansa, Spain, using full-grain leather and Goodyear welted construction. That means the sole is stitched, not glued, so the shoes can be resoled and worn for years rather than replaced.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. We offer free worldwide shipping, with delivery typically taking 7 to 15 business days depending on your location. You'll receive a tracking link as soon as your order ships.
What if they don't fit? Returns & warranty
Every pair is covered by a 1-year craftsmanship warranty on construction, stitching and sole attachment, honoured until the last day, even after the workshop closes. And you have 30 days to return your order for a full refund if the fit is not right. Try them on indoors on a clean surface to keep them returnable.
